Rally for a Reason registration

All funds raised will go toward our programs that support struggling, at-risk families in Brown County and in the Howe neighborhood. Examples of this support is intensive parenting programs in the form of home visiting and classes, emergency financial assistance, winter gear, school supplies, teacher support and busing to Howe school for children without reliable transportation. Our goal is that all children are safe, healthy and ready for academic success.

With our support, children are seeing the doctor and dentist regularly, eating healthy and getting to school daily. Families are more stable, with less interaction with CPS and in secure housing with enough food for everyone. These children are on their way to a bright future as productive members of our community!

Run leaders: Marty & Sherry LaFond (Marty's Cell: 920-255-0557) (Sherry's Cell: 920-255-0478)
You are invited to participate in the 6th Annual Shanty Days Car Cruise and Show on Saturday August 11th. We will meet at the BP/McDonalds 412 Center Drive (Hwy 54) Luxemburg, WI 54217) at 10:15 a.m. and drive to staging area in Algoma. We will be leaving Luxemburg BP no later than 10:30 am.

The first part is a rolling car show with thousands of people watching you cruise by prior to the start of the actual slow moving parade along with various street rods and muscle cars. After cruising the parade route you have the option to leave Algoma and go about your day or stay and park your car in the FREE open to the public car show adjacent to the Shanty Days grounds overlooking Lake Michigan.

This is a non-judged, no trophy show just for FUN. Bring a chair and enjoy the rest of the parade, stroll the large arts and crafts area with over a 120 vendors or enjoy food and music on the Shanty Days grounds.

The car show is scheduled to be done at 3pm but you are welcome to leave at any time you want.

* You can register at the staging area in Algoma the day of event.
* If you are staying for the day bring some chairs and a light jacket, you are right on Lake Michigan and the winds can change and cool things off in no time.

You are invited to join us for the Menominee Water Front Festival parade on Sunday, August 5th.
The parade starts at noon but we will all meet at R. W. Fernstrum (also a member in our club) at 1716 11th Avenue in Menominee at 10:30 a.m.
We will go as a group to the staging area at 11:00 and parade starts at noon.
I am looking for as many cars as possible and had 12 last year. Several members not driving also carried our banner and passed candy to the kids along the parade route. It was a fun event.
When the parade ends, we plan to go to the Iron Works, 1333 Main Street in Marinette for lunch.
Please contact me if you are interested and watch for more details as we get closer to August 5th.
I do need a count for the organizers of the parade so they can give us enough space.

CHICAGO AUTO SHOW (CAS) BUS TRIP
February 17, 2018

The cost includes the bus trip and admission to the show.
It is $45 per person or if 62 or over then $39 per person.
The difference in cost is because of a discount for admission if 62 or over.

I will need to get an accurate head count to see how many are going. The sooner I
get your checks as commitment, the sooner we know how many we have to fill the bus.
An email response if you plan to attend is welcome but I will only consider a commitment when I receive a check.
You can email me at cherylyursis@gmail.com.
The CUT OFF for me to receive your check is JANUARY 17, 2018.
Please send your check payable to "Corvette’s of the Bay" to:

2793 Summerset Circle
Suamico, WI 54173

Bay Bus is the provider for the transportation.
They know a “50’s Car Club” that is willing to share the bus with us if we cannot fill it.
They also own Barley’s Pub on Lime Kiln Rd and have patrons interested in the show.
But if we can get 40-50 of our own members, then the bus is ours.

The plan is to leave Green Bay at 6:00 AM from the GV park and ride.
We will make a stop at the McDonalds in Denmark at 6:20 AM,
and another stop at the Manitowoc 151 park and ride at 7:00 AM.
There will be a bathroom break.
We will arrive at the CAS at McCormick Place at 11:00.
There are food venders on site for lunch.
We will depart at 4:00 PM.
A stop just outside of Chicago, at a Culver’s for dinner is planned. (Just as with lunch, the cost for dinner
is not included.)
We should all be back approximately 8:30 PM.

There will be a cooler on the bus with beverages for sale: $2 for beer; $1 for soda and water.
Bay Bus is providing this service.

So far we are not sure if any snacks or prizes will be a part of this. More to come on that.
If there are any questions or concerns please call Cheryl at 920-819-6771 or email cherylyursis@gmail.com.

Thank you and I hope we have a good turnout for

Mid America Motor Works Fun Fest
No date specified
Mark Finco and Rick Northrup are gauging interest in the following event.

Rick Northrup and I have been thinking of going to the show at Mid America Motorworks Fun Fest on Sept 20 to 23, 2018. As I mentioned last night at the meeting, they are celebrating 25 years of this Corvette event, so the registration fee is free this year!

So far, we are just starting to explore this idea. We are trying to find out how many members would want to go or have some interest in this event.
