Teacher Appreciation Day!
May 7, 2024
Our Teacher Appreciation run will be held on Tuesday May 7, 2024, Don VandenAvond has been in contact with Christa McAuliffe Elementary School in Green Bay and they will be the school we will work with this year. The format will be a bit different this year and we will be transporting teachers in waves of 10-12 teachers per group so they can cover for the teachers who will be at lunch.
Because of that we will need a few more drivers than originally thought. We are in need of 5 more drivers- 3 to get a total of 20 and 2 more extras in case someone signed up and can't participate. I have a list of the drivers- once all details are finalized Don and I will be in contact with you.
Please contact me by email or text at the number and email below if you're interested in participating.

The car show is scheduled to be done at 3pm but you are welcome to leave at any time you want.

*Charlie Bucket band will be playing at Von Stiehl Winery that afternoon and the Shy Guys will be playing from 1-4pm followed by Billy Shears until 8pm with Pink Houses finishing the night on the Shanty days grounds.
* You can register at the staging area in Algoma the day of event.
* If you are staying for the day bring some chairs and a light jacket, you are right on Lake Michigan and the winds can change and cool things off in no time.

August Dinner run
Aug 10, 2023 5:00 pm
Dinner run on August 10th to Berg’s Landing, 450 1st Street, in Menominee. menomineelanding.com
This may be our last dinner run to Berg’s Landing as they are currently up for sale. This may impact our plans but right now we are a go.

Meet at the Citgo/Burger King on County B just off of highway 41 (1535 Sunset Beach Road, Suamico
) at 5:00 and leave at 5:20. The run will take 1 hour 15 minutes.

We will travel on County B east to County J. We will turn left on J and make our way to Little Suamico where we will turn right onto County S. We will stay on S until we hit Oconto where we will take a right on County Y. That will take us to Peshtigo. There is one stop light where we may get split up. After the light we will cross a bridge and staying to the right we will take County B. If the last car could text Linda (715-923-2208) if they get stuck at the light we will wait on County B. Text again when you get through the light. We will travel a short distance on B until we take a right on County BB. This will take us to Marinette and we will travel along the Bay to Menominee and Berg’s Landing.

We have a max group size of 40. Please RSVP by August 2nd so they have time to make arrangements for us. I prefer a text, call or email rather than an in-person RSVP since I may forget to add you (CRS).

Annual Veterans Home Visit
Jun 14, 2023 11:30 am
11:30am to 1:30pm
Marybeth from the Veterans home asked if we would show our cars again and join them for lunch. The Moose Lodge will provide the food and cooks for the noon time meal. June 14 is also Flag Day.

Meet at Festival Foods on University Ave at 11:15 AM. The plan is to leave Festival Foods at 11:30 and drive approximately one mile to the Veterans Home.

This year marks the 6th anniversary of COTB’s support of the Veteran’s Home in Green Bay. In the past, members of our Corvette Club arrived and received a warm welcome from the Veterans and Staff. Our members brought basic items for the Veterans such as soap, toilet paper; toiletries; etc. There are four female and 46 male veterans in residence.

You can also make a cash donation and Russ will purchase items for the veterans. The Veteran’s Home has a huge supply of toothpaste and brushes. This year we can scratch this item off the list to bring. However, socks are the biggest request and need.

The Club has been kind enough to provide us monies so that we will have flags to give to each Veteran and the corvette members can be holding the flags out their car windows as we drive over and upon arrival. During our lunch time together, we will present a flag to each veteran.

If possible but not required, please bring needed items as mentioned above. With our gifts and the joy of seeing our cars, we will put smiles on the faces of our Veterans.

RSVP to Russ Tapley at 920.655.0902 or russ.tapley@gmail.com
No later than June 9th for food planning.

Mark Finco and Rick Northrup are gauging interest in the following event.

Rick Northrup and I have been thinking of going to the show at Mid America Motorworks Fun Fest on Sept 20 to 23, 2018. As I mentioned last night at the meeting, they are celebrating 25 years of this Corvette event, so the registration fee is free this year!

So far, we are just starting to explore this idea. We are trying to find out how many members would want to go or have some interest in this event.
