Ice Cream and Cheese Run
Oct 1, 2020 12:30 pm
Please join us for an Ice Cream and Cheese run on October 1st (rain date, October 2nd).
We have planned a great route heading south through the countryside, with our destination being the Pine River Dairy located just west of Manitowoc. The dairy is only open weekdays until 4:00, Saturday until 1:00 and is closed on Sundays. Thus, this run is taking place during the week.

During COVID they will allow only 10 people in the dairy at a time, but there is a nice little park across the street. Their cheese is delicious, and their Cedar Crest ice cream is only $.25 a scoop. So come prepared to enjoy ice cream AND come home with cheese. Depending on the weather you may want to bring a small cooler for your cheese purchase.

We will LEAVE the Shell station located at the intersection of 43/29 at 12:30 p.m.
We have planned a scenic route to the dairy, and for those of you who wish to remain until everyone is ready, we have planned a different scenic route back to Green Bay. Hope you can join us.

Lunch & Winery Run
Sep 27, 2020 10:30 am
Gary and Elizabeth Kelling are planning a run on Sunday, September 27th to The Lake House restaurant on Cedar Lake in Kiel for lunch and then continuing on to Solu Winery in Cascade to see the band Joe 2.0. If you have never seen them encourage you to join us. We will meet in the Shopko parking lot in DePere next to the BP Gas Station at 302 N. Broadway. We will meet at 10:30 and will leave at 10:45 AM sharp.

JOE 2.0 was founded by violinist Joseph Ketchum to see if a classically trained string quartet could play rock and pop music in a powerful way. JOE 2.0 is comprised of an electrified string quartet (2 Violins, Viola, and Cello), plus drums and the inimitable vocals of original "Cheap Trick" lead singer, Xeno.

JOE 2.0 uses painstakingly crafted analogue effects on the strings to emulate the sounds of
electric guitar, keyboards, bass, horns, and other things. JOE 2.0 blends these sounds with the natural sound of the strings, creating a rock/pop sound with a symphonic power to it. JOE 2.0 performs a wide variety of cover songs from many genres and eras.

They play a regular set, then play a rowdier set. Some of the songs are very pretty and intricate and elegant. Some of the songs are savage and raucous and loud. I would suggest bringing jackets and chairs if you want to social distance a bit more.

Please RSVP for the restaurant, by September 23rd.

Charity Car Cruise in Algoma
Sep 19, 2020 9:30 am
Looking for something to do for a good cause before heading to Door County for the day? Or are you coming to Von Stiehl winery to listen to the Fork in Road band? Consider coming to Algoma a little earlier for a charity ride on Saturday Sept. 19th for the Casey & Shayna Groessl family to help cover some of the cost from large medical expenses. These were incurred from their daughter Aubree’s being born with a severe congenital heart defect, which she unfortunately lost the battle to at the age of 3 last Friday.

Meet at Olson Fabrication(Shanty Days car cruise meeting spot) parking lot located at 1101 Perry St. Algoma, WI 54201 at 9:30am with anticipated leave time of 10am. We are asking $20 per vehicle donation with all proceeds going to the family. We will take about a 35 minute cruise before you have the option to park your car in downtown Algoma to partake in events in town or go about your day on your own time.

Any questions please call/text Marty LaFond at 920-255-0557 Thank You!!

Corvette Run with social distancing
Jul 30, 2020 11:00 am
Tony and Sally Steffen are planning a repeat of a run we did earlier this summer. It's this Thursday, July 30. Short notice, because we are dependent on the weather forecast.

We will travel a scenic, back road route to our destination at a County Park in Pella, Wi and enjoy a relaxing time for conversation while respecting social distancing guidelines.

The park has two covered shelters plus lots of shady areas. It has restrooms with flush toilets and a couple of marked trails to view the rapids and falls. Plan to bring your own lawn chairs and beverages plus your own lunch and/or snacks if you wish. Bring bug spray if you plan to walk the 1/4 mile or 1/2 mile trails.

We will stay at the park for an hour or two, depending on group concensus. On leaving the county park, we will travel to Shawano for an ice cream treat.

We will meet at Kwik Trip in Seymour at 10:45 am and leave at 11:00 am sharp.
Kwik Trip is located just past the closed Shopko Hometown store on Hwy 54. The address is 1020 Mainline Dr, Seymour if you want to use GPS.

We are hoping you can join us. No need to RSVP.

This event has been canceled.
For anyone that has signed up for the event they will be refunding your payment in the next week or so. For those that have made reservations at the Holiday Inn in Spearhead, SD they will issue a voucher to be used anytime or you can save your reservations for next year or if they reschedule the event for later this fall.

There are 4 or 5 cars that are planning to take the “Black Hills Corvette Classic” trip to South Dakota next July 15th thru the 20th. We may combine the ride over the first day to Sioux Falls, SD with a group from the Appleton club or we may just drive the first day with our club alone (we’ll figure that out later). Any one interested should go onto the webite at to check out the events and get signed up if you plan on going. The site will still give you an idea on what is all involved with this event and all of the people I’ve talked to have said it was a great time and well worth the trip. You will be gone probably six days or more and total $$cost will be up there. Anyone that is planning on going should make their reservation in Spearfish, SD as soon as possible as I’ve been told the Convention Center Holiday Inn fills up fairly quickly. I’ve made the reservation for both Sioux Falls (Best Western) and Spearfish this week. Accommodation phone numbers are given on the Black Hills Corvette Classic web site. Your first choice if you want to stay at the main hotel is the Best Western in Soiux Falls, SD, 605-336-0650 and the Holiday Inn Convention Center in Spearfish, SD, 605-642-4683. Make your reservations as soon as you commit to going.

The run will meander through Kewaunee County and last about an hour, so people don’t have to stop and pee. We will finish back at Aurora so everyone can go their separate ways.
Please bring some tape, as we will have a few signs for you to place inside the window of your car stating this as a “Charity Run”.

We look forward to seeing everyone:

Rally for a Reason registration

All funds raised will go toward our programs that support struggling, at-risk families in Brown County and in the Howe neighborhood. Examples of this support is intensive parenting programs in the form of home visiting and classes, emergency financial assistance, winter gear, school supplies, teacher support and busing to Howe school for children without reliable transportation. Our goal is that all children are safe, healthy and ready for academic success.

With our support, children are seeing the doctor and dentist regularly, eating healthy and getting to school daily. Families are more stable, with less interaction with CPS and in secure housing with enough food for everyone. These children are on their way to a bright future as productive members of our community!

Impromptu Run 12:30 pmTony and Sally Steffen are planning an impromptu Corvette run which will include social distancing. We will meet at Kwik Trip in Seymour (1020 Mainline Dr (on Hwy 54) in Seymour at 12:45 pm and leave at 1 pm sharp on Monday, June 29.

We will travel back roads to our destination at a County Park in Pella, Wi and enjoy a relaxing time for conversation while respecting social distancing guidelines.

The park has two covered shelters plus lots of shady areas. It has restrooms with flush toilets and a couple of marked trails to view the rapids and falls. Plan to bring your own lawn chairs and beverages plus your own snacks if you wish. Bring bug spray if you plan to walk the 1/4 mile or 1/2 mile trails.

We will stay at the park for an hour or two, depending on group concensus. On leaving the county park, we will travel to Shawano for an ice cream treat.

We are hoping you can join us. The short notice is due to planning an outdoor event around the weather forecast.
