| Fall ride to Copper Country Oct 4, 2025 7:30 am | 7:30 am - Meet at Shell Station 1575 Lineville Road, Suamico (adjacent to the round-about next to Route 41) 8:00 (sharp) depart on the ride We are currently full with a total of "22” cars signed up for the event. Contact Paul if you want to be put on alternate list in case someone drops out. Contact info below. Current reservations are in place as follows: exact route details and stretch/pee stops, etc, to be provided at a later date once all confirmed.... Saturday lunch: The Hilltop Restaurant in L'Anse. Outstanding treats to buy there also, known for the best and biggest CINNABUNS in the world...!!! with many more muffins, treats and other gifts to buy and bring home..... Saturday hotel: The Hampton Inn, on Sheldon Road (main street in Houghton); $269 (good rate for that time of the year..and a reduced group rate to boot). Block of 15 rooms reserved and they can add more. Parking will be roped off for our group. Plan to meet (if you would like too that is...) on the 7th floor at 5:30 p.m. for cocktails at "The Observation Lounge".....great open views (full length glass windows) of the water/city... Saturday dinner: Joe's Seafood and Grill, on Sheldon Road, right down the street from the hotel. Short 5-7 minute walk, or you can drive, and park down on the waterfront, and walk up the stairways they have back up to Sheldon Avenue. Limited parking on the street. Sunday morning breakfast: The Copper Range Depot, right on the waterfront and only 1/2 mile drive from the hotel. The Hampton Inn also has an included breakfast if you wish to do that. I have reservations at the Copper Range Depot for 25-30. Depart Sunday from the Copper Range Depot Restaurant at 9:30 and head to Copper Harbor, with the first stop being at the Ski Lift at Mount Bohemia for a scenic view/ride. I will provide a link to the site to buy lift tickets in advance which they highly recommend. ***For those that didn't want to do the ski lift, you could always just meet us there... plan to depart there about 11:30-1200 to drive to Copper Harbor for lunch at The Mariner North Restaurant, right in the heart of Copper Harbor. *** Parking at Mount Bohemia Ski Lift: There are spots along the entrance road to the ticket area, but the manager recommended we park in the 500 car lot, which is across the street from the entrance road, and a short 5 minute walk into the area. That way we can all park together, away from all other cars and be in a safer position not to get scratched, etc. and all of the foot traffic. I'll be checking all of this out next month and again in September to ensure nothing has changed. Sunday lunch: The Mariner North Restaurant. We have reservations for the group so we will all sit together... Gift shops are nearby also..... After lunch, we will assemble for a beautiful scenic drive down Route 26 along the lake on the West side of the peninsula, heading south to Route41 and on the way home. I will lead the Green Bay group back down through Florence/Iron Mountain and then jump off. We might have a couple of cars join from the Gladstone/Escanaba Corvette group, and of course they will take a different route home than the COTB folks. ***Need confirmation if you want to join (if you haven't responded already.... by 6/27). Then a link will be sent out to make your hotel reservation and buy Ski Lift tickets. Please contact me "anytime" via email or my cell phone to clarify or discuss any aspects of the planned ride. The Copper Country area is very popular in the fall for the outstanding colors, with many groups heading that way... and if we don't lock down all and have reservations locked in, we could be left out. I've locked down everything we need so far, and can make adjustments to add more of course, if necessary. We have 12 cars as of today, and I was estimating 15-18 total. The hotel can accomodate, as long as we finalize by the end of this month. We plan to be at the 01 July meeting, to discuss with all once again... v/r, Paul & Monica Fineberg Paul G.
