July Dinner Run
Jul 25, 2018 5:00 pm
Byron Ruusseau is planning the July dinner run to the Pine Tree Supper Club in New London.

We will meet at NWTC with a departure time of 5:00.
Motorama Auto Museum Run
Jul 28, 2018 7:30 am
July 28th, meeting at the Shell station on Hwy 29 by Maplewoods Meats.
Meet at 7:30, drivers meeting at 7:45, leaving at 8:00 o’clock sharp.
We’ll take some back roads up to the north side of Shawano and then stop for a bathroom break.
Continue north up Hwy 47 through the reservation and arrive at the Motorama Museum. There is a $10/person charge that includes a tour guide. We would like to collect the fee before the ride.
The Museum stop will be for about 2 to 3 hours depending on how many questions people have and how long winded the tour guide is.
Then we’ll head north to Antigo and have lunch at the “Refuge” supper club. If the group is fairly large we will plan on a reduced menu selection so that the Refuge can accommodate us in a timely manner (if someone has special requirements I’m sure they can accommodate you. (Let me know if you need this)
We’ll then head East on Hwy 64 and catch Hwy 55 that we will drive south through the reservation.
We’ll stop for ice cream on the east side of Shawano lake for desert and a bathroom break.
Then we’ll head back to the Green Bay Area on Hwy’s 117 and 29. Expect to reach Green Bay about 5: 00 o'clock
No dinner stop is planned as this will be a full day of driving and Museum experience.

Hope to have a good group as this will be a nice drive, if mother nature Co-operates.

Please RSVP via email to fbartman@icloud.com or fred.bartman@yahoo.com or call us at:
Fred and Penny Bartman
920-931-5183

P.S. Penny and I always bring walky-talky radios to communicate “Channel 5”. Great way to highlight things along the trip and warn about deer, gravel, or other problems ahead. Also maybe a little trash talking along the way.

Menominee Waterfront Parade
Aug 5, 2018 10:30 am
You are invited to join us for the Menominee Water Front Festival parade on Sunday, August 5th.
The parade starts at noon but we will all meet at R. W. Fernstrum (also a member in our club) at 1716 11th Avenue in Menominee at 10:30 a.m.
We will go as a group to the staging area at 11:00 and parade starts at noon.
I am looking for as many cars as possible and had 12 last year. Several members not driving also carried our banner and passed candy to the kids along the parade route. It was a fun event.
When the parade ends, we plan to go to the Iron Works, 1333 Main Street in Marinette for lunch.
Please contact me if you are interested and watch for more details as we get closer to August 5th.
I do need a count for the organizers of the parade so they can give us enough space.
Thanks in advance.

The 12th annual Pearly Gates Ride.
Dave Riebe will lead us.

The 11 Annual VETERANS RIDE is Saturday, July 14.

Remember this is a fund raiser for several Veterans groups who help veterans in need. It is a very nice event that shows the rural community our patriotism and they in turn show us a hardy welcome and also are patriotic waving and displaying flags. They look forward seeing the hundreds of motorcycles and well over a 100 beautiful cars of which our club can show our beauties. With your donation you are allowed into the festivities when you get back after the run. Stop in enjoy a drink or food and the camaraderie. See you at the meeting Tuesday before, on the 10th.

CHICAGO AUTO SHOW (CAS) BUS TRIP
February 17, 2018

The cost includes the bus trip and admission to the show.
It is $45 per person or if 62 or over then $39 per person.
The difference in cost is because of a discount for admission if 62 or over.

I will need to get an accurate head count to see how many are going. The sooner I
get your checks as commitment, the sooner we know how many we have to fill the bus.
An email response if you plan to attend is welcome but I will only consider a commitment when I receive a check.
You can email me at cherylyursis@gmail.com.
The CUT OFF for me to receive your check is JANUARY 17, 2018.
Please send your check payable to "Corvette’s of the Bay" to:

2793 Summerset Circle
Suamico, WI 54173

Bay Bus is the provider for the transportation.
They know a “50’s Car Club” that is willing to share the bus with us if we cannot fill it.
They also own Barley’s Pub on Lime Kiln Rd and have patrons interested in the show.
But if we can get 40-50 of our own members, then the bus is ours.

The plan is to leave Green Bay at 6:00 AM from the GV park and ride.
We will make a stop at the McDonalds in Denmark at 6:20 AM,
and another stop at the Manitowoc 151 park and ride at 7:00 AM.
There will be a bathroom break.
We will arrive at the CAS at McCormick Place at 11:00.
There are food venders on site for lunch.
We will depart at 4:00 PM.
A stop just outside of Chicago, at a Culver’s for dinner is planned. (Just as with lunch, the cost for dinner
is not included.)
We should all be back approximately 8:30 PM.

There will be a cooler on the bus with beverages for sale: $2 for beer; $1 for soda and water.
Bay Bus is providing this service.

So far we are not sure if any snacks or prizes will be a part of this. More to come on that.
If there are any questions or concerns please call Cheryl at 920-819-6771 or email cherylyursis@gmail.com.

Renaissance Assisted Living Cruise in
Jun 28, 2017 3:00 pm
Run leaders are Tony & sally Steffen

We are looking for cars to participate in a rally for an hour or so at Renaissance Assisted Living in DePere on Wednesday June 28.

The activity director at the center saw the Corvettes leaving the Broadway Auto event a few weeks ago and felt it would be a real thrill for the residents to be able to see a group of Corvettes drive onto their property and see the cars up close. The residents will be talking about the history of the Corvette that week.

We all love to show off our cars, and to watch others enjoy them too, so it should be fun for all. And it will create some fun memories for the residents. It's a chance for the Corvettes of the Bay to "give back"; something we've talked about often.

We will meet at the Festival store on Main Street in DePere (Hwy G exit from Hwy 41--I will try to park closer to the road than to the store).

Meet at 3:15, leave promptly at 3:30 and drive in a caravan a few blocks to Renaissance Assisted Living at 250 S 9th St., DePere.

We may plan a stop for a drink or light dinner afterward if there is interest.
Please send me an email or call to let me know by Wednesday June 21 if you will be there. tonysally.steffen@gmail.com or 920-660-8054

Let Me Be Frank show
Jun 24, 2017 1:00 pm
On Saturday June 24th there is a 'Let me be Frank' show matinee at 1:00pm. I have spoken to the event coordinator there who has set aside 35 tickets for us. Cost is $25 per person for the show which is a $5 discount per ticket. Let me be Frank is a community theater show at the Meyer Theater in downtown Green Bay. If you have never seen one of Frank's shows.....you don't know what your missing! Its a hoot!! Frank was our celebrity judge for the COB car show last year.
He is thrilled that the Corvettes of the Bay is considering attending one of his shows!! and the event coordinator assures me that Frank will give our group a warm and enthusiastic WELCOME!
This particular show is called 'My Twin Bridge Summer' set in Crivitz Wisc. The shows are zany to say the least but the singing is out of this world fantastic! and sure to entertain you!!

The show will last approx. 2hrs......we will then proceed to either The Cannery or Titletown just around the corner for an early dinner about 4:00ish. (I'm still working with both to see if they can accommodate our group) I chose the matinee and early dinner as I know some of you like to have your cars in before dark if you have a distance to travel.

Rhonda (the event coordinator) needs a final count on Thursday June 15th!! You can pay me directly for your tickets (cash or check) and she will mail the tickets to me. If anyone has season tickets as Don and I do....they can use them for this show, you just need to swap them out ahead of time. Rhonda will mail me the tickets and I will hand them out when we meet that morning. I have a few feelers out for someone to lead a short ride that morning.......if no one takes the lead we will meet at Noon in the Wally's Spot parking lot then proceed to the theater on Washington St.

If you’re looking for a “cruise-to” event this Sunday afternoon that will take you through some scenic countryside, LedgeRock Band is playing from 2:00-6:00 pm at the Evergreen Bar & Grill in Morrison. Official address is 7075 Morrison Rd, Greenleaf. Phone # 864-3499. The Evergreen just re-opened under new ownership. They now have a full pub menu, a very nice bar, and a large dance floor. And of course you’ll get great music from COB’s own musicians – Northrop, Linssen, and the Terriens.
County W south from De Pere, or north from Wayside, makes for a nice Corvette ride. So take advantage of a beautiful spring day and let’s see if we can christen the Evergreen as a new favorite on the COB roster of fun pubs.

Mid America Motor Works Fun Fest
No date specified
Mark Finco and Rick Northrup are gauging interest in the following event.

Rick Northrup and I have been thinking of going to the show at Mid America Motorworks Fun Fest on Sept 20 to 23, 2018. As I mentioned last night at the meeting, they are celebrating 25 years of this Corvette event, so the registration fee is free this year!

So far, we are just starting to explore this idea. We are trying to find out how many members would want to go or have some interest in this event.
