Annual Veterans Home Visit Jun 14, 2023 11:30 am | 11:30am to 1:30pm Marybeth from the Veterans home asked if we would show our cars again and join them for lunch. The Moose Lodge will provide the food and cooks for the noon time meal. June 14 is also Flag Day. Meet at Festival Foods on University Ave at 11:15 AM. The plan is to leave Festival Foods at 11:30 and drive approximately one mile to the Veterans Home. This year marks the 6th anniversary of COTB’s support of the Veteran’s Home in Green Bay. In the past, members of our Corvette Club arrived and received a warm welcome from the Veterans and Staff. Our members brought basic items for the Veterans such as soap, toilet paper; toiletries; etc. There are four female and 46 male veterans in residence. You can also make a cash donation and Russ will purchase items for the veterans. The Veteran’s Home has a huge supply of toothpaste and brushes. This year we can scratch this item off the list to bring. However, socks are the biggest request and need. The Club has been kind enough to provide us monies so that we will have flags to give to each Veteran and the corvette members can be holding the flags out their car windows as we drive over and upon arrival. During our lunch time together, we will present a flag to each veteran. If possible but not required, please bring needed items as mentioned above. With our gifts and the joy of seeing our cars, we will put smiles on the faces of our Veterans. RSVP to Russ Tapley at 920.655.0902 or russ.tapley@gmail.com No later than June 9th for food planning. |

The plan is to leave Festival Foods at 11:30 and drive approximately one mile to the Veterans Home. Theresa will again serve lunch of hamburgers, brats and other goodies at no charge to us. June Dinner Run Primal Eats Jun 4, 2022 3:00 pm | Tony and Sally Steffen will lead the June dinner run on Saturday, June 4, with a destination of the Primal Eats Restaurant. We did a test drive for lunch one day and decided the food is unbelievably GOOD! There will also be live music outside that day so let's hope for sunshine and warm temps. The menu is typical of a southern style BBQ "joint" where there is not a wait staff. You will order your meal at a window and while it's being prepared you'll walk to the bar in the next room to order your beverage. Meat and sides are ordered separately to get the combination you want. We've been told the pizza is exceptionally good too. We will meet in the Festival Foods parking lot at 2348 Lineville Rd, Suamico at 3 p.m. and leave at 3:15. Please or call/text to 920-660-8053 (Sally) or send an email to tonysally.steffen@gmail.com. We need your RSVP by Saturday, May 28 so that we can notify the restaurant. To view the menu, go to: toasttab.com. Note that items labeled 1/2 pound typically serve 2 people. The items that do not specify a size are approximately one pound and will typically serve 3-4 people so you may have leftovers. There are also a few combo meals like pulled pork or beef brisket with mac and cheese (1/2 pound size and 1 pound size) or a 3 Meat Platter (serves 2 and includes sides.) The 3 Meat Sampler does not include sides. Click on each item to read the full description. If you are unsure what size to order, ask at the window. FYI - We ordered the 3 meat platter and had leftovers. Hoping to see you there! Call/text 920-660-8053 (Sally) or send an email to tonysally.steffen@gmail.com. We need your RSVP by Saturday, May 28 so that we can notify the restaurant. |

Impromptu Run 12:30 pm | Tony and Sally Steffen are planning an impromptu Corvette run which will include social distancing. We will meet at Kwik Trip in Seymour (1020 Mainline Dr (on Hwy 54) in Seymour at 12:45 pm and leave at 1 pm sharp on Monday, June 29. We will travel back roads to our destination at a County Park in Pella, Wi and enjoy a relaxing time for conversation while respecting social distancing guidelines. The park has two covered shelters plus lots of shady areas. It has restrooms with flush toilets and a couple of marked trails to view the rapids and falls. Plan to bring your own lawn chairs and beverages plus your own snacks if you wish. Bring bug spray if you plan to walk the 1/4 mile or 1/2 mile trails. We will stay at the park for an hour or two, depending on group concensus. On leaving the county park, we will travel to Shawano for an ice cream treat. We are hoping you can join us. The short notice is due to planning an outdoor event around the weather forecast. |
